The 2026 MIT Demo Day fell on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. After a moment of silence led by veteran participants, graduate student Kevin Power opened the event, noting that the day is both a remembrance and a celebration, and that building a better world honors those lost.
Now in its 15th year, the delta v Demo Day packed 13 teams into a 90‑minute showcase at Kresge Auditorium, each delivering a two‑minute pitch. Every team received $75,000 in equity‑free funding, a substantial increase from previous years.
This cohort spanned undergraduates, graduate students and postdocs from all MIT schools, tackling problems in AI, robotics, health care, cybersecurity, aerospace, fintech and biotech.
The Trust Center also announced a new partner model, enlisting over 125 leading founders from companies such as HubSpot, Okta and Kayak, together with industry experts and early‑stage investors.
Artificial intelligence featured prominently. Neural Physics builds physics‑based AI models to speed up product design and validation for cars, equipment and machine parts, claiming to cut the $245 billion annual loss caused by engineering delays. Cerebrus AI creates a behavior‑baseline monitoring system that flags anomalous actions of deployed AI agents, giving security teams the visibility they need. Talys applies AI agents to health‑care spend analysis, having processed $325 million in procurement data to identify savings across pharmacies, operations and third‑party services.
Hardware innovations also shone. RBT Resources unveiled a portable blood‑transfusion device that addresses the time, gravity and labor inefficiencies of on‑site transfusions. Gander Robotics introduced a low‑cost, hand‑thrown drone submarine that autonomously locates a person overboard and delivers a rescue line while transmitting its exact position. Other teams included Alpaca (frontier AI model hosting), Banzai (AI‑driven home‑repair diagnostics), Bizon Labs (lipid‑nanoparticle delivery platform), Cortheon (AI‑optimized metal part design), Exo AI (financial back‑office automation), Pixology (AI‑generated sales pitch visuals), Robox (AI design engine for physical automation) and Trade Lab (global tariff compliance and supply‑chain optimization).
Scheduled at the start of the semester, Demo Day aims to inspire the next generation of MIT entrepreneurs. As Trust Center managing director Bill Aulet put it, the goal is not just profit but building organizations that solve the world’s most intractable problems.
