ABDA‑NL adds a natural‑language front‑end to the ABDA system, which conducts argument‑based discussion using ASPIC‑knowledge bases under grounded semantics. Users can instantly see whether each conclusion is accepted, rejected, or undecided, and can open an interactive rendering of the grounded discussion game to inspect the underlying reasoning. The tool allows what‑if exploration by suspending assumptions, disabling rules, or changing preferences; users may ask questions that are answered from the scenario’s reference documents; and new facts, assumptions, or rules can be authored in plain English. A large language model acts as the bridge between natural language and formalism: it answers questions based on the documents and the current scenario state, and translates English edits into candidate formal statements. The deterministic ABDA engine remains the sole source of arguments, attacks, and acceptance labels, and every model proposal is validated and confirmed by the user before taking effect.
