Achieving practical fusion energy remains one of the most pressing unsolved scientific challenges, with profound implications for carbon‑free power. In Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) the design of a Laser Pulse Shape (LP) is critical, as it must drive the fuel capsule to optimal compression while respecting strict physical limits. Conventional LP design relies on costly simulations and manual iterative tuning, leading to low efficiency. We introduce the ICF Laser Pulse Shape Design System (LPDS), a generative inverse‑modeling framework that maps desired experimental outcomes and target pellet configurations directly to optimized LPs. The core of the system is a multi‑objective loss that enforces fundamental constraints such as energy, power, and timing windows, as well as experimental requirements. To enable fine‑grained control, we add constraint‑conditioning, inpainting, and gradient‑based LP editing mechanisms, allowing precise adjustment of specific pulse features during generation. We also evaluate transfer to a limited set of real experimental shots, showing that the model retains effective inverse‑design performance on actual data. Overall, LPDS provides a data‑driven inverse design platform for ICF laser pulse shaping, advancing the path toward sustainable fusion energy.
