Major Updates of Veo 3.1
We are rolling out significant updates to Veo that give users enhanced creative control. Veo 3.1 introduces richer audio, more narrative control, and enhanced realism to improve the video creation experience.
Five months ago, we launched Flow, our AI filmmaking tool powered by Veo, which has inspired creativity with over 275 million videos generated. We have been listening to user feedback and learned that users want more artistic control within Flow, particularly with increased audio support.
New Creative Features
Veo 3.1 brings audio to existing capabilities, allowing for more precise video editing. New features include:
- “Ingredients to Video”: Control characters, objects, and styles using multiple reference images, with Flow generating the final scene as envisioned.
- “Frames to Video”: Provide starting and ending images, and Flow will create a seamless video bridging the two, ideal for artistic transitions.
- “Extend”: Generate longer seamless shots that connect to the action from your original clip, suitable for longer establishing shots.
Enhanced Editing Capabilities
To help you reimagine and perfect your scenes, Flow introduces new editing capabilities:
- “Insert”: Add any imagined elements to a scene, with Flow managing complex details like shadows and scene lighting naturally.
- Seamless Removal: Soon, you’ll be able to remove unwanted objects, with Flow reconstructing the background to make it appear as if the object never existed.
Start Creating
With more precise editing capabilities, audio support across all features, and high-quality outputs powered by Veo 3.1, Flow opens up new possibilities for richer and more powerful video storytelling. The Veo 3.1 model is also available via the Gemini API for developers and in Vertex AI for enterprise customers.
